      Document Description

extended per extended per TSC tracker 12437, again with 14128 and jira.hl7.org/browse/TSC-38

      Existing Wording

Smoking Status - Meaningful Use (V2) [observation: identifier urn:hl7ii:2.16.840.1.113883.10.20.22.4.78:2014-06-09 (open)] SHALL contain exactly one [1..1] statusCode (CONF:1098-14809). a. This statusCode SHALL contain exactly one [1..1] @code="completed" Completed (CodeSystem: HL7ActStatus urn:oid:2.16.840.1.113883.5.14 STATIC) (CONF:1098-19116). In discussing the alignment between FHIR US Core Smoking Status Profile and C-CDA Smoking Status template it was agreed that the FHIR status of "entered-in-error" would align to the RIM actStatus concept of "nullified". This is a specific instance of a larger issue where information exchange needs to supporting resending a document that includes representation of information that "was previously entered in error". (use case: provider has charted on the person in the wrong chart, and now the chart has been corrected to remove that information.)

      Proposed Wording

Create a new value set that contains "completed" and "nullified". Bind all statusCode elements currently bound to "completed" to this new value set. Add "nullified" to any other value sets bound to status code elements, (assuming a review of the value set determines it is appropriate).
