How wide is the scope for Condition?
In Boundaries and Relationships it is mentioned that
"The Condition.category element is a CodeableConcept data type with a preferred (not required) binding to four category codes: complaint | symptom | finding | diagnosis"
However, this set of values only works when Condition is considered narrowly. It does not seem to fit either pregnancy or the 'condition of having had a procedure in the past'. The first is proposed in the scope statement for Condition
"The condition resource may also be used to record certain health state of a patient which does not normally present negative outcome (until complications are predicted or detected), e.g. pregnancy."
The second was propsed by GG in Profiling Reference choices
So if the scope is wide the set of values needs to be wider, and the wise scope should be made clearer. If the scope is narrow, the set of values might be OK, but another resource will be needed for pregancy and other such items of interest in aedical history medical history items.
