We agree the importance is lost, and we should change the sentence to mention that more details about these canonicals can be found in section 2.3.0.5 - Canonical URLs on the references.html page.

The information about logical identifiers, literal identifiers, business identifiers, canonical urls and their associated versions is spread over various places and is hard to collate.

I suggest that the section 2.28.3.2 Resource Identity needs a new subsection (a sibling to 2.28.3.2.1 "Business" Identifiers) for canonical identifiers of FHIR resources (e.g. StructureDefinition.url). Their importance is lost by just mentioning them in the sentence: "In a few resources, there is a url element that serves a similar purpose, but is constrained to be a literal URL for implementation reasons."

The section should mention the new data type (canonical) and something of their use.

Maybe it could also refer to 2.3.0 Resource References
