The VSE project discussion has considered the expansion to represent its own provenance (not requiring a separate Provenance resource instance). Possibly an extension to Provenance should be added if it is determined that this specificity should be supported - this should be discovered in implementation experience and testing (in Connectathons, etc.). Will add a reference to the use and importance of provenance in the text description of the expansion process.
