The name "Described Variant" is not a widely understood name, so I suggest that we simply name the profile "Variant". While it could cause some confusion, I think within the context of our IG it makes as much if not more sense than DescribedVariant.

We originally had two profiles: Discrete Variant and Structural Variant. When it was decided that the boundries between those were not well defined, we decided to combine them, and we choose Described.

If Variant is not acceptable, my 2nd choice would be Sequence Variant.
