Throw in an example that uses candidateExpression to allow the user to select the resource they want to edit and then uses calculatedExpression to grab the values of that resource for subsequent editing and allowing extraction/update. Will probably need to use 'variable' to reference the answers to the hidden question for use in the calculatedExpression(s).

Suppose one has a Questionnaire for editing a Patient resource. We do not want a seperate Questionnaire for each Patient, so somehow there must be a mechanism for selecting the Patient. Would that be through a question on the Questionnaire, where the user picks from a list of patients, and then the selected patient is fed somehow to itemContext? Are there other possibilities? (Note that in this scenario there is not yet a QuestionnaireResponse with a saved patient ID in a hidden field to reference).

Some more elaboration on how this works would help.
