      We understand the Patient Care WG has recognized this issue as a gap for chronic conditions, and we would expect to retire the extension once the issue is addressed in the base resource.

      This has not been resolved by the Patient Care WG and we will wait until it has been resolved by them.

      My understanding is that the recurrence of a condition would be captured as another condition instance, but with a clinicalStatus of recurrence. This obviously has the downside that the original condition and its recurrence are only implicitly connected. Would a stronger link be desirable?
