The expectation for clinical guidelines in general is that following them, based on the evidence, that patient outcomes will improve. The goal of this implementation guide is to provide as many tools as possible to help streamline implementation efforts for guidelines. We are pursuing metrics to demonstrate that these tools help with implementation, but at this time those are still being gathered. There are also larger questions about whether a lack of improved patient outcomes would be due to mistranslation/misapplication of the recommendation or some other confounding factor. The implementation guide focuses on a framework and methodology for supporting translation of guidelines from narrative to structured and ultimately implementable content, and so it's fair to say that it should at least be the same as what's happening currently (manual implementation of narrative content), and could potentially be much more streamlined implementation approach.
