The intent of this wording is allow the provider, at their discretion, to move a process (e.g. perfecting the order) to a future time or another individual. This assumes that there is the need to do additional investigation prior to creating the final orders (e.g. sleep study may be performed at home or in a bedded facility). The goal is not to suggest an alternative to the order.

Existing Wording: The provider can confirm that the sleep study has not yet been conducted and generate a task for office staff to schedule a sleep study directly in the questionnaire interface.

      Comment:

I don't know if this is a good example for Task creation or not. Wouldn't an order or referral be necessary before scheduling an appointment. Do note that both CDS Hooks, through suggestions, and in the future, SMART apps, through SMART web messaging have the ability to recommend an order to a clinician in real time that wouldn't involve this middle step of a Task resource.
