      Based on FHIR-26310 will remove MessageDefinition and GraphDefiniition from specification. So this issue will be moot.

      However, If the commenter means the instance version then there is an 'version' element on the resources that MAY be used to indicate the business version. Also the IG itself is versioned and FHIR version specific so all the artifacts used in it are associated with the IG's FHIR version and IG version.
