Given the example in this section it is becoming more clear that new lines are also considered whitespaces. So to make thinkgs more formal, please consider either providing or referencing a definition of the whitespace.

Note the in Section 3.1.9 you also mention whitespaces but some times you indicate (including newline) and sometimes not. So this has to be formalized.
