To make this guide more broadly applicable we recommend that the scope be expanded address orders for services where there is ordering/rendering provider. For example, we know that imaging and labs have the same challenges of not having the info needed for the PA (or AUC) with the order, requiring back-and-forth with the ordering practice. Not sure what would need to be different in the guide to address radiology/labs, something to ask the workgroup, but our thought is it wouldn’t be a huge amount of work to add in this version.

The goal is to provide for electronic ordering of Post-Acute DME and Home Health Services with the electronic exchange of supporting documentation in this version of the IG. It is the goal of future versions of this implementation guide to support orders for all post-acute services.
