The $docref operation has optional start and/or end search parameters. The description is 'The date range relates to care dates, not record currency dates'.  $docref then refers to US Core DocumentReference which has encounter as a must support element.  Based on the fact that encounter is not a supported search parameter and the start and/or end is optional, it is not possible to support an encounter.  Can guidance be added stating encounter is not must support (optional) for CCD documents?
