Is Natural Mother code (NMTH) the best code for the woman who gave birth to the child? The definition of NMTH in the value set (http://hl7.org/fhir/us/vr-common-library/2021JAN/ValueSet-mother-relationship.html) is "The player of the role is a female who conceives or gives birth to the scoping entity (child).", does the "who conceives" introduce ambiguity? Would an egg donor who initiates the IVF procedure be the "natural mother"? The definition of Gestational Mother in the same value set ("The player is a female whose womb carries the fetus of the scoper. Generally used when the gestational mother and natural mother are not the same.") seems like it would be the woman we want in all scenarios.
