If the patient has not been asked about allergies, then a different AllergyIntolerance.code should be used (e.g., SNOMED code 1631000175102 – “Patient not asked”, or alternatively, requesting a new code from SNOMED for this situation). The risk of not checking or misinterpreting the verificationStatus is too big and may cause patient harm.
