Electronic case reporting, which currently supports reporting for over 80 different public health programs, has two components for its existing knowledge artifact repository (ies). One is the electronic Reporting and Surveillance Distribution (eRSD) and the other is the Reportable Condition Knowledge Management System (RCKMS). RCKMS acts as a decision support engine on the trusted third party APHL AIMS platform, but also presents trigger codes and rules to the eRSD. The MedMorph IG should name this as an existing knowledge artifact repository and full harmonization of the related transactions should be achieved so as to minimally burden clinical care organizations and EHRs.
