Beyond the payload specification of the electronic initial case report (eICR) in the eCR FHIR IG standard, eCR also specifies: 1) A response transaction (the Reportability Response) for communication of programmatic information about what was reported for clinical users and reporting system management (errors, warning, and status) for system administrators, 2) A knowledge repository transaction in the electronic Reporting and Distribution (eRSD) specification.

It is a major issue for clinical care organizations to implement multiple specifications for similar functions in different public health programs. These transactions should also be harmonized between MedMorp and eCR.
