We will update the description of this template, as well as the guidance around the use of the effectiveTime element to emphasize the importance of capturing the most accurate dates possible.

We will also add guidance around a suggested time period for which to capture travel history - based on the condition under investigation.

      Travel History (V2)
      Dates of Travel (effectiveTime)

In the many templates related to travel there is an effectiveTime to documents dates of travel. Where are the definitions for the concepts these dates represent related to Travel?

For example, the date or period of time spent in location, we recommend focusing on dates arrived in country and date of departure.

The specific defintions of dates are especially useful for determining need for Federal Public Health Notifications (FPHNs).
We use those when we alert foreign ministries of health about their residents who may have been contacts of cases, or if a flight that was outbound from the US had an infectious traveler on it.
