Are there profiles here that would be usuable outside of the Vital Statistics domain and thus should live at a different level in the stack?

There might be profiles that in the future would be used at a different level, yes. We are working on another effort in Public Health to create a Public Health library. Some of the profiles in this IG may be considered for use in that library, or it may be that eventually they are considered for use in the US Core library.

However, currently we will keep them in this library, and move them to a different level, if and when that different level becomes available and/or is willing to house them.

Appreciate the effort to define re-useable items in one place and refer to them in more use case specific implementation guidels. Are there profiles here that would be usuable outside of the Vital Statistics domain and thus should live at a different level in the stack?

I realized this is not a Public Health Workgroup question, but I think should be considered by MnM - I am starting to see multiple profiles for the same concept in a variety of implementation guides

      Existing Wording:

To avoid defining the same profiles multiple times, we propose to create a US Realm focused profile library for use by Vital Records and other FHIR standards development efforts to define the appropriate FHIR profiles, value sets, etc., once and allow them to be referenced by each of the specific implementation guides.
