      Doing as commenter suggested would just move complexity down into the profile - i.e. you'd need to have some kind of constraint stopping a mother profile using a father relationship code and vice versa. It is cleaner and more understandable to just have the separate value sets.

      Questioning the need to have separate mother and father relationship codes or should their be one set of relationship codes which when applied to a mother or father inheret that context?
