      Provide some guidance notes in the introduction of the Patient Resource to explain that the Race and Ethnicity properties widely differ between jurisdictions and properties. And refer onto the profiles section.

      "Not all concepts are included within the base resource (such as ethnicity, organ donor status, nationailty etc) but may be found in profiles defined for specific jurisdictions, or standard extensions found ....(here)"

      Comment:

      In the US, 100% of the Health IT technology which is certified, will likley be required to support both Race and Ethnicity. As such, these elements should be optionally included in the FHIR standard.

      On the Patient Resource we do not see anything for Race or Ethnicity. These are important demographic data elements and would like them added to the model.
