      Motion: We agree with the need for more and better tooling, but this is not an issue for the FHIR specification per se. The specification already allows for this, and there are ongoing community projects in this direction (e.g. Grahame hosts a validation server; HAPI supports some code generation for Profiles). We anticipate that fhir.org will serve as a community hub for futher development.

      Comment:

      There needs to be the same sort of tools for validation, code generation, etc. for profiles/profiling as there is with the standard in order to make the use of FHIR really useful (particularly just about any implementation is likely to need to have the creation of some sort of extension and/or profile)
