Existing Wording: A document manifest gathers a set of Document Reference resources into a single package that may be the subject of workflow such as access control, auditing, and targeted delivery.
Typically, Document Manifest Resources are used in document indexing systems, such as IHE XDS (see the XDS specific profile).
Proposed Wording: A document manifest gathers a set of Document resources into a single package that may be the subject of workflow such as access control, auditing and targeted delivery.
Typically, Document Manifest Resources are used in document indexing systems, such as IHE XDS (see the XDS specific profile). It will also be used to describe the content in an EHR extract.
Comment:
In the upcoming creation of a HL7 FHIR ISO EN 13606 extract Profile, there is a need of a resource with almost the same content as Document Manifest. The diffrence that not will be able to manage in the profile, is that we need to directly reference the content in the extract: :List(folder) and Composition resource.
The alternative to this is to create a new EHR extract resource.
