Comment:

The generation of resource, profile, extension, and valueset definitions (StructureDefinition and ValueSet XML and JSON files, the associated Bundle XML and JSON files, Schema/Schematron) should be completely independent of the generation of the HTML pages. Currently they are intertwined in Publisher.java. This makes local build times excessive, when an author may have no need to generate several thousand HTML pages, but still want to generate validated definitions.
