Existing Wording: type maps to PV1-4-admission type

Proposed Wording: type maps to PV1-18 Patient Type

      Comment:

      Reason for Encounter.type mapping change:

      • Encounter.type definition is a specific type of encounter (e.g. e-mail consultation, surgical day-care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation).
      • PV1-4-admission type is the circumstances under which the patient was or will be admitted (e.g. accident, emergency, L&D, Routine, Newborn,Urgent, Elective)
      • PV1-18 Patient Type contains site-specific values that identify the patient – more specific than PV1-2 Patient Class (inpatient, outpatient, emergency, obstetrics, etc)
      • PV2-25-visit priority code is already mapped to Encounter.priority (e.g. emergency, urgent, elective)
